Crazy similiar thingy-doos. :)

Sooo. I just discovered something and wanted to post it before I forgot.
This is the Posh Brush Set:

This is the Essence of Beauty Brush Set:

I don't know if you can tell in the photos but these two brush sets are EXACTLY the same. I have the essence of beauty one and saw the posh one on a video and thought about where I had seen it before. The only difference is just the obvious color difference. I don't know if they're made by the same company or something. I just thought that was weird.

Sephora & Drugstore, Show &Tell. :)

Hope you guys saw this coming. :)

Of course, another haull. :D
This time I got some stuff in the mail. I finally got my extensions in the mail (another post with them later) and shockingly at the same time I found a box labeled Sephora on top!
So, here's the things i got from Sephora!
First of course I got my 3 samples. I chose two perfumes and a moisturizer. I got the Lolita Lempicka and Aquolina Pink Sugar (smells like candy, yummm). Then Prevage Day Anti-Aging Moisturizer (WHICH I LOVE!).

Then, I got my main thingy which was the Benefit Bestsellers To-Go Kit. It came with travel sizes of Some Kind-A Gorgeous (the foundation faker), That Gal Brightening Face Primer (self explanatory), Benefit High Beam (a highlight/luminizing liquid), and Benefit Posie Tint (a pink lip and cheek stain).

I absolutely LOVE all the products especially Benefit High Beam and Some Kind-A Gorgeous. Some Kind-A Gorgeous is like THE PERFECT CONCEALER! High Beam gives me the perfect glow. :)
Then I ran to CVS earlier and got some things.

The other things you can see in the first picture. I got a Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Conditioner that came with a Sleek and Shine Serum. Then I got a little pack of wedges, because I needed some.
This is what I was most excited about though. This is called the Vickery & Clarke Aloe Vera & Cucumber Face Tonic for normal to dry skin. YAY! I needed a face mist and I really love this. :)

So, that's basically it. Hope you enjoyed this. :)

shopping is happy-making. :)

Another show and tell, anyone?
I just got home from shopping and immediately took pictures of what I got so that I could show you guys! :)
So, first we went to the mall and I stopped in JcPenney first...
and...
I got a purse! :D
My other Sacco purse was literally falling apart, despite paying 30 dollars for it...gr. So, I picked up this absolutely gorgeous purse for $50.00! :)

It's an absolutely beautiful purse. I love it because of it's color and style. It reminds me of Demi Lovato (one of my idols) because it has the chain across the front and zippers and stuff...haha. It's this really unique light charcoal grey color too. :)
Then we went to Body Central...MY NEW FAVORITE STORE! and all their jewelry was $3.90 so I got some pretty pieces of jewelry.

As you can see, I got 2 necklaces and some bracelets. The bracelets are just like bangles that came in one thingy connected (does that confuse you?) and they're like silver, black, and then one is like black with silver squares on it. Then I got a big teardrop shaped crystal necklace on a long chain. And then...my favorite necklace...I got this adorable black owl necklace on a long chain...and the owl is like huge! :)
Excuse the bad nails...when I finish doing this post I'm going to redo them... :P
Then...I went to Wet Seal and found two really cute items.

I got this really cute black and white striped cardigan that was originally $20 for $3.90! :) Great deal right? Then of course I had to get a black cami to go underneath it...haha. It was $6.50.
Then last stop of the day, we went to Rite-Aid and I picked up a few makeup items.
First I got 3 nail polishes...remember the Sinful Colors I talked about a few posts back? Well I got 3 more of them....hehe...despite the bad review I gave it.
I got San Fransisco (a really pretty dark sparkly green color), Black on Black (plain black...because I needed another one), and Vacation Time (a really nice creme pinky nude color).

Then I picked up some NYC products because they were buy one get one 50%. So I got a liquid lip shine, because everyone's been raving about them in Dusty Rose, and I got a volumizing mascara.

So, that's it for todayyy! I'm plannin another shopping trip for this Saturday, I ordered hair extensions that should be in tomorrow, I'm getting my hair thermally straightened soon, I ordered some Benefit stuff from Sephora, and my Elf stuff should be in soon...so yeah, loads of hauls coming up this week. :)

WE GO BACK TO SCHOOL NEXT MONDAY THE 5TH. AHHHHH! :(
Show and tell, over & out.
Sincerely,

elf products, make me smile. :)

I finally ordered my elf products yesterday and they just got shipped out! YAYY! So, here are the things that I ordered.

So, first I ordered a concealer brush from their regular line. I got this because I don't actually own any concealer brushes yet...haha. I'm late on the brush bandwagon. It was $1.00.

Then I got the blending brush from their regular line because I only own 1 blending brush and it's horrible. I've heard sooo many good things about this, so I figured I'd try it out. It was $1.00.

I also ordered a liquid eyeliner from elf. This one is called Stardust and it's a clear iridescent liner with glitter in it. I just wanted to try it out because I've been wanting a glitter liner lately. It was also $1.00.

Of course I HAD to get something from their studio line. So, I got the eyebrow kit in light because one, I don't have any gels or powders for my eyebrows, I only have my eyebrow pencil which isn't that great, and two, the packaging on these things intrigue me....NARS, anyone? This was $3.00.

So...as you probably have heard by now..the elf studio line brushes are supposed to be magical...especially this studio powder brush. It's a flat top brush that's supposed to be comparable to the MAC 187 (I think). So I actually picked up 2 of these because I've heard sooo many goods things about it. So..I got one for my liquid foundation and I got one for my setting powder, blush, bronzer and basically all my powder things. So each one was $3.00 and I got two...so I paid $6.00.

So I spent $12.00 and then instead of paying 7 extra dollars for shipping, I got a coupon code "EH198SHIP" that ends the 31st and I used it to get $1.98 shipping...it basically deducted 4 dollars. My grand total was then $13.98. So...I'm ordering more things tonight...and then going shopping soon...so expect a giant haul post coming in the next week or two. :)

show and tell, over & out.

green eyes are fun! :)

Here's my first tutorial ever! I'm so excited, I hope this is pretty explanatory. Swatches and lists of all colors and products used will be at the end. So, this is an extremely simple smokey warm green and brown look, it's really great for people with green eyes, like me! So, let's get started... :)
1. So, of course first you want to prime your eyes. I just used a homemade primer that I made using this tutorial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYcGm7S6jcY
2. You want to apply a light lime green color to your lid just using a simple shader brush.

3. Take a crease brush and grab a dark olive green color and put it in your crease from the outer corner all the way to the inner corner.

4. Blend out the harsh lines between the lid color and the crease color and the line between the crease color and the brow bone.
5. Take a golden brown color and put it in your outer 'v' and then bring it halfway into your crease and blend it out. (sorry, no picture)
6. Add your favorite highlight, eyeliner, and mascara.
7. You're done! (see...I told you it was simple!)

Swatches & product list:

(From left to right)
  • Maybelline Emerald Isle Quad, Lid - Shade I used for lid
  • Maybelline Emerald Isle Quad, Outer Corner - Shade I used for crease
  • Urban Decay Eye Shadow, Smog - Shade I used for outer corner
  • Model Co. Color box, Antiqua - Shade I used for highlight (new favorite highlight!)
  • Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner, Black - Liquid Liner on top lash line
  • Wet N Wild Kohl Kajal Pencil Liner, Charcoal - Liner on bottom lash line
  • Wet N Wild Mega Protein Mascara, Black & Maybelline Lash Stiletto, Black - Layered both for mascara
Anyways, tutorial, over & out.

(review) acrylic nails are a pain. :(

So, I decided to try out some acrylic nails by Kiss..and boy were they a pain. The liquid acrylic made my entire upstairs smell extremely strong and chemical. Everyone that walked upstairs could smell it even after I closed the bottle. I used the instructions only, and this is my first time doing acrylics on myself, so yeah. Personally, I think they came out alright....but they are still rough even after a top coat. I think i'll try to buff them and file them down today. But they came out goodish. Here's the result:

So...
Cons:
1. The liquid acrylic smells HORRIBLE...my nails smelt extremely strong until the next morning.
2. They have a weird matte finish not a shiny finish.
3. I definitely regret purchasing it.

Pros:
1. Price, it's only 10.00.
2. It comes with 20 natural tips and 20 white french tips.
3. It comes with easy to understand instructions.

Basically that's it...I wouldn't recommend this because I regretted purchasing it...but, it's up to you.

review, over & out.
sincerely,
yourpoindexterkid.

haul and major update! it's christmas time in the city. (extremely long post) :)

Hey guys! So, It's winter break from school!...thank goodness, i've had to write so many essays recently, I thought I was going to die...haha. But, it is winter break now, so we don't go back until January 5th. Anyways, this post is like the smallest haul ever (basically little Christmas presents from my best friends...some of it isn't even makeup related). But, before that I basically wanna update you guys on what's going on and what's going to be going on. As I said before, we just got out for winter break and the day we got out it started snowing like crazy, we got 2 feet of snow! It's not even fun....people got stuck on the roads and such. So, we've been working like crazy to get it out of the roads and our drive way and sidewalk. our yard is untouched though, so one it melts we'll have another thing to deal with. So, I'm not really going anywhere till' Christmas because of that.
Anyways, I've really been planning out what I want to get with the money that i'm recieving from family for Christmas. I'm planning on getting japanese thermal straightening done on my hair (because if you didn't know, my hair is naturally curly, and i'm hoping to do the Bio-Ionic hair system straightening. So, i'm getting that done and then I'm buying hair extensions! Yayyy!
I'm getting my hair extensions from a UK seller named foxylocksextensions. I'm getting them off their website and they're about 50 pounds which translates to roughly 90 dollars USD including shipping over seas. I've heard extremely good reviews on them and the seller gives returns and such incase something's wrong with them. They're remy human hair, 120 grams, 20 inches (WOAH!), and they are 10 pieces which is most than I can say for other brands, I researched like crazy trying to find the perfect ones. Anyways, i'm getting them in darkest brown or chocolate brown for my hair, so i'm excited bout' that.
Then i'm getting about 216 swarovski crystal rhinestones in rose, 16ss size and a pink hard phone case for my samsung instinct and i'm going to put some crystals on it so that I can have a super cute cell phone! :)
I'm going to then pick up some Elf products from the website and such.
A week after Christmas I'm planning on going shopping with some of my best friends and getting lunch with them. So, i'll hopefully get some stuff from Sephora (because we got one in our mall a few months back and i've yet to buy anything there!) and some clothes. So, ya'll should be expecting some major haulness and reviews in about 2 weeks.
So...enough blabbering! I got this stuff from CVS when I went to dinner with friends, onto my small mini (almost non-makeup related) haul!
Here's the makeup items first!

yeah...see? pathetic little non-makeup buying slob i am. :)
So basically i've picked up 2 nail polishes. I got a petites crystal clear nail polish because i needed a new top coat (which i love because it makes my nails so shiny!). I also got a Sinful Colors Professional polish in Rich in Heart. Which you can see below:

So...this bottle...LIES! In the photo above you can see this really beautiful dark ruby color with red shimmer sparkles in it, which is why I got it (because i thought it would be a lovely unique christmas color), but truth is...this color and product is horrible! The color comes off on my nails as a musky brown color with slight red tint to it (when i like turn my nail sideways!) and the product was chipping like crazy even with the top coat on it! So, as for the product I might buy it again because the color came off pigmented and except for the chipping it was nice and smooth and for 1.99 at CVS it was great. They also had a really nice color selection!
...another item that I got is actually a present for my best friend named Alexis. We've been friends for all my life (since I started kindergarten actually!). I made her gift and we've yet to exchange them, but i'm going to give hers to her when she gives me mine...haha. Here it is!

So, you can't really see the colors there, but it's a really pretty periwinkle blue color for most of it. So, basically I was inspired by Enkore and all the other makeup gurus on youtube. It's a brush holder because she has loads of nice MAC brushes and has to keep them in a toothbrush holder because she never found a brush holder. So, I basically went to Micheals and got a glass vase for $10, big blue fillers for $5, small clear fillers for $4, and some really thick pretty blue antique looking ribbon for $2. So all together I paid about 20 dollars for everything, then i went home and layered the beads then added the ribbon and a bow (which i have yet to glue on...hence why i'm holding it up to it in the photo). Anyways, I was going to put some other items up, but I might just make a seperate post tomorrow for them. So I hope you enjoyed this post....and i'll see you guys later!
update and haul, over & out.
sincerely,
yourpoindexterkid.

product reviews...make me happyy. :)

Starting it off, eh? Well, here goes nothinn.
So, i'm doing a review of a product that i've had for a while now...

Maybelline New York Mineral Power Blush!
I bought this maybe a year ago in Gentle Pink.
So...I LOVE IT!
This is the blush i go for over my Urban Decay and Mac blushes anytime. It's extremely soft and smooth and milled extremely well.
Now, I know that the rule is you're supposed to throw out your blushes every so often...but this is mineral blush so it'll last as long as I need it to last.
It's a loose powder and it comes with .14 ounces or 4.5 grams. It may not sound like a lot of product but i've had it for a year and i haven't even used half yet. It's so pigmented that you don't need much at all to get alot of color on your cheeks. The only thing with this is the first use you may look like a clown because you have to figure out how much product you need for you. I take the cap of it and just dip my brush in a few times and then I apply it to my cheek. I really love this product not only for the pigmentation but for the way it goes on. It gives me a really nice natural flush to my cheeks. I have been thinking about trying out another color and trying the highlighter...if I can find it. They also make foundation, concealer, and bronzer in the mineral power line. All of which I've heard great things about.
So, in the end...
Price: Good for the amount of product ($7-8 in most drugstores)
Quality: Soft and great quality!
Pigmentation: Extremely high pigmentation, you have to be careful.
Overall:
Overall I give this product a 5/5 for stars and I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to a friend and all you mini poindexters out there.

So I hoped this helped...product review, over & out
sincerely,
yourpoindexterkid.

first post, always a charm. :)

AH! First post ever? Soooo...uhm to get this stuff started I figured I'd give you some incite into my life. :]
1. I'm a beauty maniac, don't care what brand or product....if it has to do with makeup...and i have the money...i'll buy it!
2. I've gone through many blogs before and only been able to stick with one throughout the entire time...so we'll see if this lasts.
3. I use mostly drugstore products, so if you're looking fora high end product thing.....look else where. :/

...now i'm getting lazy. heehee. post over & out.
sincerely,
yourpoindexterkid.
