January Favorites. :)

Finally a favorites post! I'm on a roll today with posts! Haha, anyways...my first favorites post. I have a lot this month but that's okay.... :)
So, I'm just going to get started.
The first category is just nails...
Only one product for nails, and that's my Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish in Vacation Time. This nail polish does chip horribly....but this color is so cute that I don't even really care. It's like a pinky neutral color. Very pretty! :)

Next category is Eyes! :)

This category I picked out 4 products...
The first product is Loreal HIP Cream Shadow Paint in Secretive. I love this because it's a really nice base over primer. It's a really soft creamy skintone color with slight shimmer.
Then there's the Wet N' Wild Mega Protein Mascara in Black. It's really cheap and really black! It really darkens my lashes, which is one of my biggest things. I usually use it with another mascara.
Then there's the Maybelline Chai Latte Quad. I use this just about everyday unless I want to do a special look. It's shadows are all really soft and pigmented, so definitely recommended! (Swatches below)

Then there's my Wet N' Wild Cream Liner in Black! I bought this a while back....but I only used it once and hated it. Well as of recently I ran out of my favorite liquid liner and I was sort of forced to use this one. I used it though and immediately fell in love! I use it with a angled liner brush and it goes on really nicely. It gives me the liner look I like but also looks natural.
Next category is Lips! :)
Quite a few products for this one, so I'm not going to do reviews, I'm just going to tell you the colors.

From left to right, there's:
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude
MAC Lipstick in Warm Me Up (from the Warm & Cozy collection, it's an amplified creme)
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blushed
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Birthday Suit
Here are swatches in the same order:

Revlon Nude Attitude is just a nude color similiar to MAC Myth Lipstick but with more pinky peachy undertones.
MAC Warm Me Up Lipstick is a really nice neutral pink color that's VERY pigmented considering it's an amplified cream.
Revlon Blushed is just a really nice fall color it's a very rich burgundy color but is like a MLBB (my lips but better) shade with shimmer.
Rimmel London Airy Fairy is a very cool undertoned mauve, it's definitely more purple than pink.
Rimmel London Birthday Suit is a sort of shimmery nude with more beige orangey peachy undertones.
The next category is...Face!

For this I just have Wet N' Wild Ultimate Mineral Powder Foundation in Fair, Benefit High Beam, and Benefit Some Kind-A Gorgeous Foundation Faker in Light.
I love all the products and the foundation faker from Benefit is definitely something that I will buy again. This was in a $10 set from Sephora (that you can see in an earlier haul) but I am planning on buying the full size when I run out of this travel size, which is about $24, but I'm definitely willing to pay that.
The next category is Miscellaneous! :)

For this I chose the Elf Eyebrow Kit in Light and my new Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen.
I was supposed to do an Elf haul but I never got around to it (I might do one big Elf review soon). I love this eyebrow kit though, It comes with a pigmented wax to shape and define brows and a light powder to set eyebrows. I got this in light because my eyebrows are currently pretty light, but I might have to buy one in dark pretty soon because I'm going to be dying my hair a really dark 'almost black' brown.
The makeup eraser pen from Revlon was on sale when I got it and is usually around $8.00, I paid around $2.00 for mine. I would definitely pay full price though! I'll definitely be doing a review on this soon.

The next category is brushes....:)
I only have 3 brushes for this, all Elf (also from my big Elf purchase, that I should have done a haul on).

I love the Elf Studio Powder Brush, it's flat top and I have one for liquids and one for powder. It's sooooooooooooooo soft. If you can...get one...or better yet...like me...get two! Before the take them off! They are part of a studio line which right now is permanent but I'm not taking any chances, when I get some extra money I might just buy 2 back ups...I mean...they're only $3.00 each!
Then there's the Elf Blending Brush which is actually part of their regular $1.00 line. If I get more studio powder brushes then I'm definitely going to pick up a few more of these too! Love it!
Last thing wins my Holy Grail Product of the Month Award!

The Jheri Redding One N' Only Thermal Ionic Permanent Straightener! I bought this in the end of December and did it at home. It's basically a thermal permanent straightner, also known as Ionic straighteners, thermal reconstructing, thermal reconditioning, and japanese straightening. I know they are supposed to be done at salons but I would have had to pay around $400 to $1000 dollars depending on the salon to get it done....
I did it for.....
$26 dollars! :))
I used to take me around 40 minutes to a hour to completely straighten my hair (I have naturally coarse frizzy curly hair) from when I jumped out of the shower and it was such a hassle.
Now it only takes me around 15-20 minutes to do my hair...blow drying and all.
It didn't damage my hair at all and my hair is even like not frizzy when I let it air dry.
When It air drys it's just a little sorta frizzy with waves in it. But still pretty great if I just wanted to run out of the house to pick up some makeup or go to the grocery store or something. So yeah! If you have really curly unmanageable hair then check it out...I got mine online from:

Anyways that's it, sorry for the extra long post!

Simple Neutral Pink and Brown Tutorial. :)

Hey guys! I have another easy look for you today. I got a lot of compliments on my makeup the other day and I decided I'd do a tutorial for you guys! It's really easy and doesn't require alot of time or products. It's great for a day when you don't want to work too hard on your makeup, but still wanna look glamorous.
Here's the ending look:

(This is the one I wore to school, I winged out my eyeliner that day.)
Okay, so first thing is to prime your eyes, I just used a homemade primer. Then I used Loreal HIP Cream Shadow Paint in Secretive all over my lid to my brow.
Then, apply a glittery (or matte it's up to you) neutral light beige color on your lids using a shader brush. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy.

Next, place a shimmery (or matte) pink barbie color in your crease using a fluffy blending brush from your outer corner all the way in. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Shotgun.

Then, place a shimmery (or matte) golden brown color in your outer corner and take it a little ways into your crease with a fluffy blending brush. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Smog.

After that, use a matte white color in your inner corner with any brush. I used Elle Shadow in White.

Then just finish the look off with black mascara and eyeliner if you want ( i just used mascara for this).

THE END!!

The day at school! ^^

Today ^^ (the image colors aren't showing up well, the first image is a better image).
Here's the products I used!::

updates & project 10 pan. :)

Okay, so I know I promised more posts and such, but I've been like overwhelmed with school and such. I have a new foundation routine with new products and such though, that I might do a post on later today, but as of right now I can't because in the midst of this I'm supposed to be typing an essay. :/
So, I wanted to do this super duper quick post about my newly developed idea. I've officially decided to do a project 10 pan. I mean, to tell you the truth I don't buy makeup that often anyways, but I like the idea of being able to use 10 projects until I hit pan. It's definitely a way to budget money! Anyways, so I'll just be doing quick updates of those coming up and such.
I also wanted to mention all the sites that you can go look at in accordance to me, if I haven't updated my blog in a while.
I do infact have a twitter, my twitter is http://twitter.com/poindextertweet & I have a tumblr which is like a sort of photo or inspirtational blog.... mine is http://thepoindexterkid.tumblr.com/
So anyways, check those out, thanks.

AHH! :)

Hey guys! I'm soooo sorry I haven't been posting anything in a while, ever since my last post, of course there was new years and then we started back at school, hence the lacking of posting. Anyways, I have a few hauls coming up,some more makeup tutorials, some reviews planned, and maybe some hair tutorials? :) I went shopping and got more body central jewelry, my elf makeup came in (yayyy!), my extensions came in, i got my hair japanese straightened, and i got one clothing item thingy-doo that's really cute. I don't know I'm trying to think of things to do, I might do eye look of the day from now on, since i wear makeup just about everyday, and then just upload them when i get home from school and also outfit of the days and such. I also have a december favorites post that i would still like to do, that i have pictures for, and I also have pictures of my makeup look for new years eve which i might upload soon. So, I hope this explains my lack of posts, and sorry if there's any spelling mistakes...I'm typing this at 8:30 and i'm about to go bed...i do have to wake up 5:30 you know. Anyways, thanks for reading!
